What a wonderful service at Blackburn Cathedral!
The church was fulled with supporters and family members of the eight ordinates. The service was presided over by The Right Reverend Dr Jill Duff Bishop of Lancaster; while the Right Reverend Julian Henderson, Bishop of Blackburn gave the sermon. A moving ceremony with lovely hymns and all through the service Jane had the widest of smiles!
Several of our congregation were present to see Jane being ordained and to wish her well.
CONGRATULATIONS JANE and all the very best in your new parish and future ministery.

The Church relies on volunteers to help keep it clean and tidy. Although volunteers do cleaning tasks weekly, we are aiming to give the church a good ‘spring’ clean about every six weeks. There are a variety of tasks to do – from sweeping to mopping; dusting & polishing and of course the more volunteers there are the quicker the jobs get done.
Please you can give an hour of your time to help. The Church is open for cleaning at 10:00am.
Thank you.
Another enjoyable canal trip thanks to Jaqui for organising the evening on behalf of the MU and for letting non members join you!
This time we cruised along the Leeds – Liverpool Canal from Foulridge to Barnoldwich and back, taking in the scenes as we went.
Thanks to Linda for the photos.
The Mothers’ Union year ended with a Strawberry Supper on Tuesday in aid of the Summer of Hope Appeal. Over 30 members and friends attended and had a lovely evening enjoying each others company, strawberries and wine!
£200 was raised and the money will go towards helping families in desperate need of support; it is hoped that MUs’ across Uk can help to raise £127,000 to continue their mission. The money could, for example, be used to help educating mums in Burundi, bonding families in Northern Island, uniting families in Sudan; there are so many parts of the wold where families need help and support.
Thanks to all who supported the event.

As you know many people gather outside All Saints’ before and after the ‘Couch to 5K’ runs three times a week. The PCC have decided that at least over the next few months, it would be good to offer refreshments on Monday & Thursday evenings and we are aiming to establish a rota. Time requirement is only 6:55 – 7:20pm including setting up and clearing away.
If you can help on one or more occasions please see Barbara Anderson re Mondays and Andrew McMinn re Thursdays.
This is very much part of our out reach work.
Thank you

Our first two workshops are on Tuesday 11th June starting at 11:00am and Saturday 15th June beginning at 10:00am. Refreshments will be provided.
Look forward to seeing you.
