The  Wednesday evenings 7:30 – 8:45pm online via zoom group has been cancelled

Everyone is welcome, even if you are unable to attend every week. If you have not joined in before, don’t worry, no one is put on the spot, everyone’s contribution is valuable, including those who just wish to sit, listen and observe.

Lent begins on Ash Wednesday – 2nd March

A day of fasting and penitence if you can, please come to church to start Lent together in worship.

10:00am Holy Communion with imposition of ashes – at All Saints’ Church.

7:30pm Holy Communion with Hymns and imposition of ashes – at Altham St James.

There are free booklets at the back of church with daily readings from St John’s Gospel, with reflection for use during Lent. Please feel free to take one.

Why not come and join in our next Scargill Weekend which will take place from Friday 14th until Sunday 16th October 2022? There are still some places available.

Scargill is a Christian based community of people who live, work and pray together and the purpose of the weekend is to spend time together as a church family.

The cost for an adult is £145 (or £165 if you are in an en-suite room). Please request an en-suite room early  if this is important to you as they were in high demand last time. For children the cost is greatly reduced. Please have a word with the Vicar to ask for further details.

DVDs included on ‘It will be alright on the night  to order

As various people have asked us if it was possible to order a DVD of ‘It will be alright on the night’, we have decided to offer at least these options-

  2. The Victorian Music Hall – 2 hours 23 minutes long.
  3. The ‘King & I’ plus ‘Millennium’ on one tape (About 1 hour 40 mins). It includes scenes from the ‘King and I’ + parts of the’ Millennium’. This includes the dress rehearsal of the whole of the Dad’s Army sketch, ‘The Lullaby of Broadway’ and ‘Grease’ (this shows the children up close) + All of Act 3 from the actual live performance.

If you would like one or more of the above DVDs, please fill in the sheet at the back of church. Cost is £5 per DVD.

Ideal presents for those who now live away or couldn’t attend & who were in it; or whose parents were in it!
