The 140th anniversary of the disaster falls on the 7th November, which we will commemorate on Saturday 11th at 1:00pm – silence and laying of wreaths at the Memorial at Pilkington Bridge Burnley Road.
Then a service at 1:45pm in Altham St. James Church followed by refreshments in Altham School.

The disaster took the lives of 68 men and boys, the youngest victim of the disaster was aged just 10, while five more boys, all aged under 13, succumbed to the explosion.
