Is God Calling you?
Could you stand for election as a churchwarden or PCC member?
This year’s annual meeting will take place on Sunday 18th May, within a service of thanksgiving at 11am.
The first meeting is for the election of churchwardens. David Clarke has indicated that he won’t be standing again, so we are looking out for a new churchwarden. This is a key role in the running of the church – do have a word with David, Linda Vine or Toby to find out more about what it entails. Or have a look at this page on the diocesan website
The second meeting includes various reports and the election of members of the Parochial Church Council. Each year we elect four of the twelve lay reps. The PCC works with the vicar to oversee the life and mission of the church and have care and responsibility for the maintenance of the church building, our finances, safeguarding, etc. The PCC is a charity and its members are trustees. You need to be a baptised communicant, 18, and on the electoral roll to stand.
As Trustees of a charity which organises work with children and vulnerable adults, PCC members are required to be DBS checked and to undertake online safeguarding training.
