Ash Wednesday is on 22nd February  this year and there will be a service at 10:00am at All saints’ and 7:30pm at St. James’.

On Thursday evening, starting the 2nd March, there will be an evening Lent Course in church. The focus will be on reflecting on how we live out our Christian discipleship in our every day lives and context.

Lent Bible Readings – Do take a copy of the booklet which has a bible reading and reflection for every day in Lent, to help develop your devotional life in this holy season.

Could you be a Sidesperson and do a short duty once a month?

 

All Saints’ is looking to recruit a few more Sidespersons. They work as part of a team to support the

church wardens in preparing the church on Sunday mornings, welcoming worshipers, counting

collection and assisting worshipers to and from communion.

First and forth Sunday would welcome an extra person in each rota.

All Saints’ Scout Group is looking out for

 

Scout Leaders on a Tuesday evening 7:30 – 9:00pm

and Beaver leaders Tuesdays 6:00 – 7:00pm.

Full training will be given.

Please speak to Claire or one of the Wardens if you are interested.

Tots’ Praise 

 Wednesday 1st February from 2:15pm

Tot’s Praise is for the youngest – under 5s together with their parents/carers – gather between 2 and 2:15, all done in time for school pick up.

 

 

 Archdeacon of Backburn, the Venerable Mark Ireland,

will preside and preach at the 9:30 am (Altham)and 11:00am services  

on Sunday 5th February the

At the end of the 11:30am service he will bess the newly refurbished kitchen.

Do come and share with him in worship and listen to his message.

The next PCC meeting is on Thursday 2nd February

 PCC meeting is in church at 7:30pm. There will be no communion service at 7:00pm.

If any of the congregation want anything raised at the PCC meeting please let one of the PCC know, and they will raise it on their behalf.

Garden spring clean

The next session is now planned for Monday 27th February 2023 between 10:00 – 12:00am

If you can spare  a little time to help tidy up the church garden  ready for the Spring.

Warm beverages and biscuits will be avaiable.

If you have any of the following items listed below, please could you bring them along to church over the next few weeks. Thank you

Toiletries

Bottles for Tombola –  – they can be bottles such as tomato sauce, bottle of olive oil, or soft drinks. They dont all need to be alcoholic. 

We particularly need these.

( We have enough jigsaws  and empty jars- thanks to all who brought some in.)
