Invite to a PCC meeting – 9th November

All Saints’ Church  each has a parochial church council responsible for looking after the finances and fabric of the church and working with the vicar to oversee and lead its work and mission.

We would welcome anyone who would like to attend a PCC to see what is going on.

All Saints’ next PCC meeting is on the 9th November at 7:30pm in church.

Likewise if you have any issues or points you wish to have raised at a PCC meeting, please message Toby before hand so they can be added to the agenda, and we will try and address them at the next meeting.

Tots’ Praise Wednesday 8th November

Tots’ Praise 

 Wednesday 8th November  from 2:00pm

Tot’s Praise is for the youngest – under 5s together with their parents/carers – gather between 2 and 2:15, all done in time for school pick up.

Also – we are looking for someone to join the team to work along side Barbara at this important ministry to our young parents and youngest children.

The 140th anniversary of the disaster falls on the 7th November, which we will commemorate on Saturday 11th at 1:00pm – silence and laying of wreaths at the Memorial at Pilkington Bridge Burnley Road.

Then a service at 1:45pm in Altham St. James Church followed by refreshments in Altham School.

All Welcome

The disaster took the lives of 68 men and boys, the youngest victim of the disaster was aged just 10, while five more boys, all aged under 13, succumbed to the explosion.

 

Church cleaning Saturday 4th November

 Saturday 4th November between 9:00 – 10:30am. 

All welcome to come along and help!

We are all members of the God’s church, so it would be lovely if you  could spend just half hour or so  to help make the church look nice and clean; you don’t have to stop the whole time. The more helpers we have the quicker it can be done!

The more the merrier!

Remembrance day Services

‘We shall remember them’

Saturday 11th November: Short act of remembrance at the war memorial in Mercer Park, starting at 10:55am and including two minutes silence.

Sunday 12th November – 

There will be services at both All Saint’s and St James Altham at 10:am with acts of remembrance at the war memorials at 11:00am.

In Clayton there is the option to meet at the Community Centre on Pickup Street at 9:30am for a parade to church.

For those travelling by car please use Victoria Street which should be open at all times.

Also on the 12th November there will be a Praise Service at 6:30pm, all welcome.
