Could you stand for election as a churchwarden or PCC member?

This year’s annual meeting will take place on Sunday 18th May, within a service of thanksgiving at 11am.

The first meeting is for the election of churchwardens.  David Clarke has indicated that he won’t be standing again, so we are looking out for a new churchwarden.  This is a key role in the running of the church – do have a word with David, Linda Vine or Toby to find out more about what it entails.  Or have a look at this page on the diocesan website

The second meeting includes various reports and the election of members of the Parochial Church Council.  Each year we elect four of the twelve lay reps.  The PCC works with the vicar to oversee the life and mission of the church and have care and responsibility for the maintenance of the church building, our finances, safeguarding, etc. The PCC is a charity and its members are trustees.  You need to be a baptised communicant, 18, and on the electoral roll to stand.

As Trustees of a charity which organises work with children and vulnerable adults, PCC members are required to be DBS checked and to undertake online safeguarding training.

Deadline  – all forms need to be in by Sunday 27th April.

Thank you to everyone who has completed a church electoral roll form.  Every 6 years we are required to create a new roll from scratch and all those who consider themselves to ‘belong’ to All Saints’ Church (who are baptised, aged 16+ and live in the parish and/or regularly worship here) are invited to join the roll.  It is a way of expressing your membership and gives you the right to speak and vote at our annual meetings.  It is also one of the qualifications for serving on the Parochial Church Council.

IF YOU HAVEN’T YET COMPLETED A FORM you can use the electronic one attached here but you must email it back by 12 noon on Sunday to t.r.webber3@gmail.com – or you can complete a physical form in church whilst it is open on Friday lunchtime or Sunday morning.  Thank you. The new roll will be published on Sunday 5th May so that you can check that your name is entered as it should be.

(If you miss the deadline you are still able to fill a form in but you will not be able to vote at the AGM this year)

It will then be in use for our  Annual Parochial Church Meeting

This  will be held within the 11am Sunday morning service on 18th May.

At this meeting we will elect churchwardens and PCC members for the year.  Nominations are invited.  Nominations for Churchwarden must be received in advance of the meeting – nominations for PCC members can be accepted at the meeting.

Please note that successful candidates will be required to have a church DBS check and participate in online safeguarding training.
Reports and accounts will be available in advance of the meeting both in hard copy and via the website.
